Duplicate and Merge Logic

Scopus analytics are based on scival.csv merged with selected raw Scopus fields from scopus.csv by normalised EID. Web of Science analytics use wos.csv and incites.csv by accession number where available.

The application does not simply add Scopus and WoS totals into a combined publication count. Separate database views are shown because duplicate matching across databases requires DOI/title/year reconciliation and citation definitions differ by source.

Known Limitations

  • Organisational-unit or faculty mapping is not forced when a definitive UniSZA unit cannot be derived from local data.
  • Affiliation strings can under-count authors when database exports omit per-author address details.
  • Scopus and WoS citation counts are database-specific and should not be interpreted as identical measurement windows.
  • Future-dated early-access records are capped where the Scopus loader applies its existing year rule.
